Since my last post I continued searching for assets, and adding some set dressing assets to the scene. Unfortunately, I was having a bit of a hard time finding free stock models for the different species of the trees. I think I will need to widen my search to include paid assets to maintain accuracy for what types of trees belong in the scene.
The added set dressing assets are from Quixel.
I really want the scene to feel visually complex like it would in nature, and I am planning to achieve this through a mix of set dressing and with the shader for the ground. I found two options for assets from Quixel I will likely mix for the ground when I build the shader:
